After April 1, 2009 there will be “cheap”, non-crystal wine glasses that are as close to unbreakable as any on the market. A company has bought rights to a strengthening process from Alfred University’s NYS College of Ceramics that stregthens the glass so much that 8 oz. bottles processed with the technology can be filled and dropped from 5 feet onto concrete without fracture.
The company is Santanoni. I am the developer of the process.
